Year 8 students rock on for Maths Week
Ms Kelly writes: “Our amazing Year 8 students took part in the Ireland Rocks Competition in partnership with Times Tables Rock Stars - competing against over 250 schools across 3 days! They answered a staggering 70,032 maths questions, boosting their confidence, accuracy, and recall! 8B came out on top, and a n additional shoutout to our Most Valuable Players: Ersin Tatli, Rosa McCulla and Jamie McGrath. Shimna girls make positive start to netball season
The Intermediate team made a successful start to the new season yesterday, defeating Victoria College 22 goals to 11. They will now continue in the Cup section of the competition. Shimna to raise funds for Evora Hospice this week
Later this week, students will be running fund-raising activities on behalf of the Evora Hospice ( formerly known as the Southern Area Hospice ) - https://evorahospice.org/ On Thursday, students in Key Stage 3 will take part in a competition run by our Sports and Charity Leaders in Year 14. NC Coaches sponsors netball at Shimna
Thanks to Neil Cunningham, owner of NC Coaches, for sponsoring our netball team kit this year. Neil presented the kit to Mila Astruc-Kidd, captain of our Intermediates, ahead of the team’s first NI Cup match, against Victoria College Belfast.
