Shimna Tennis Open played out at BT33
With the weather conditions being not so kind as yesterday, the Shimna Tennis Open was played in-house today, using the Sports Hall and on our new outdoor tennis court. It was a very enjoyable morning, which included girls singles, boys singles, girls and boys doubles and mixed doubles. Shimna reach Ulster Final after thrilling semi-final victory
Shimna secured their place in the Ulster GAA Corn Cuchulainn Cup final on Wednesday following a dramatic and high-scoring encounter, overcoming St. Patrick’s, Lisburn by 6-13 to 7-04. From the throw-in, Shimna signalled their intent with a bright and energetic start. Sun shines brightly on Shimna Sports Day
Forecasts of rain proved to be greatly exaggerated as we managed a whole day of sporting activity in balmy conditions. The morning was given over to track and field, with events across four year groups, followed by an afternoon of netball and football tournaments. It was great to see so many students getting involved across the day, with a number of outstanding performances. Year 10 gain real-world employment experience
