Earlier today, three Shimna students competed in the Ulster Cross-Country championships. They deserve great credit for the way they battled through heavy rainfall and icy wind at the event held in Mallusk. Our new U13 Basketball team performed brilliantly in their first ever game on Friday afternoon, defeating St Louis Grammar. Shimna started brightly, with Levon Foran hitting two early 3-pointers to give Shimna an early lead. Shimna stayed on top for the next two quarters, with Reece Maguire, Fionn Brown, Callum McIlmurray, Jamie Magee and Ryan McCullagh all impressing. Our newly formed U13 Boys’ team travelled to the Racquets Club in Lisburn to take part in the Ulster Post-Primary Schools Table Tennis Finals. Captained by Reece Maguire, the team of Year 8 and 9 students included Levon Foran, Elijah Lamb, Robbie Mackin, Darragh Scannell and Jonah Williamson.
